Carmel Popcorn

1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup margarine 2 cups brown sugar 1/2 cup corn syrup 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. soda 1 tsp. vanilla Millican Pecans Halves and Pieces to suit Melt margarine and butter; stir in syrup, sugar & salt. Bring to hard boil, boil without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove from heat stir in vanilla and soda. Pour over popcorn & nuts. Bake in 250 degrees for 45 minutes. Stir ever 15 minutes. Put on wax paper to cool about 2 hours.
